The final conference of the PACTESUR2 project took place in Gdańsk on 17–18 June 2025, within the framework of Efus’ General Assembly and the conclusion of the Polish Presidency of the Council of the European Union.
Titled “Building Safer & Inclusive Cities: Cooperation, Training & Innovation”, it brought together around 100 local stakeholders, including elected officials, local and regional police officers, and security professionals from across Europe, all committed to fostering safer and more inclusive cities.

The event provided an opportunity to showcase the key outcomes of PACTESUR2 and to introduce EU-POLNET. Four thematic panels highlighted the work carried out and outlined future efforts on public-private cooperation, innovative training approaches, coordination and cooperation between frontline services in the security chain, and police-population relations.
The event opened with welcoming remarks from Aleksandra Dulkiewicz, Mayor of Gdańsk (Poland), and Willy Demeyer, Mayor of Liège and President of Efus (Belgium). Both highlighted the importance of cooperation between European cities in addressing today’s urban security challenges, with a particular focus on building resilient communities and fostering dialogue among local authorities, police, and citizens.
