On 24 and 25 June 2024, the city of Liège welcomed around thirty PACTESUR2 participants to brainstorm about improving the security continuum. The event took place at the brand new and splendid B3 – Centre de Ressources et de créativité de la Province de Liège.

After the presentation of emergency planning and the principle of multidisciplinary management in Liège Police, there was an interesting panel discussion about emergency planning and the public/private safety continuum on a real case occurring in Liège in 2010 with high-level representatives of each of the five disciplines (firefighters, rescue services, police, civil protection, and communication).

The afternoon was dedicated to visit the Oil Port of Wandre (strategic fuel reserve with many Seveso companies) with the presentation of the overall emergency and specific intervention plans co- constructed in partnership with private companies to better coordinate the actions of public and private security forces in the Port.

Back to the B3, for a general event open to the public to present different equipment of the five disciplines including the mobile command car funded by the European Commission in the frame of PACTESUR2 that will be an additional and valuable tool to improve the safety continuum in the Oil Port of Wandre.

This large exhibition of vehicles and equipment from the various professions involved in crisis situations attracted many people and especially students and young people. General public was also welcomed for a session on public/private collaboration in security management where two concrete examples were discussed:  les Ardentes festival and the prevention of sexual violence in Barcelona.

The second day was dedicated to the participation in a crisis management exercise with the different
disciplines and representatives of the private company Seveso victim of the 1976 disaster in the wonderful Ecole de Police Liège in Seraing. This exercise was the opportunity to observe the coordination processes and tools of the different stakeholders of the safety continuum in Liège.
