Four delegations from Nice, Madrid, Torino and Riga were warmly welcomed by the city of Vilnius from the 29th of August to the 2nd of September 2024 to observe and participate to the securing of the Sostinės dienos (Vilnius City Fiesta). This open and free event takes place each year the first weekend of September. More than 250.000 people are visiting the events of Vilnius city Fiesta, which includes a wide range of high- level entertainments from jazz, pop, rock and world music to classical music and opera, films program, street theatre, fashion shows and carnivals.
For this event, many streets are closed and events are organized in different parts of the city around the Old Town.
The delegations were received by the CEO of the city of Vilnius and the Police Department in their headquarters to present all the security equipment. The police officers had the opportunity to share discussions about protocols and tools. This event was also the opportunity to learn more about the story of Lithuania and discover the specificities of Vilnius city.
