From May 13 to 15, the city of Nice welcomed 43 police officers and elected officials from 15 European cities as part of a European police academy which was also the opportunity to inaugurate and test the police simulator immersive interventions V300 from the VirTra brand financed by the Internal Security Fund of the European Commission.

Indeed, as part of the PACTESUR2 project, the City of Nice was able to test innovative tools such as this intervention simulator. VirTra’s V-300 simulator was the world’s first 300-degree small arms simulator for law enforcement. This intense and immersive training environment takes into account the smallest details, from the smallest signals warning of an attack to situations involving the greatest cognitive overload. Designed to develop, test and sustain the skills and knowledge of agents, both beginners and experienced, in terms of decision-making and reasoned use of force, it also allows teamwork of up to 4 people on the same scenario.

The immersive experience of the V-300 simulator illustrates authentic situations inspired by real events which allowed the different European police forces to test, compare and improve their respective intervention protocols on both simple and more complex intervention protocols requiring a negotiation phase.
