A series of training meetings for the local Piedmontese police within the framework of the EU-funded PACTESUR, which involves 14 European cities and 50 local police officers, with Anci Piemonte and the city of Turin among its partners.

It aims to empower local police officers in the field of security of public spaces, mainly in the face of terrorist threats, but also against other risks inherent to public spaces and large events.

The first meeting took place in Biella, the city of mayor and vice-president of ANCI Piemonte Claudio Corradino, who wanted to host the training event in the premises of Palasport.

The vice-president for European projects, Pier Sandro Cassulo, was satisfied. “Thanks to the collaboration of the regional councilor for urban framework Fabrizio Ricca – explains Cassulo – we have decided to involve all the municipalities of the capital in the PACTESUR project, through the organization of eight training events, including the first in Biella”.

In the coming weeks, the meetings will land in the other seven capitals.
