On Thursday the 20th of February, the experts, associated cities and consortium were invited for the annual meeting organized in Edinburgh.
The specific objective of this annual meeting was to gather project’s consortium, Experts Advisory Committee and associated cities to exchange and work on the topics of transnational cooperation and the legal frameworks.
The annual meeting began by welcoming words from Malcolm Graham, Deputy Chief Constable of the Police of Scotland. Then, the expert Mariusz CZEPCZYNSKI presented his approach of the multidimensional threats in public spaces. A panel discussion was dedicated to the means of cooperation for the protection of public spaces in the UK followed by a workshop about cross-border threats.
The visit of the Scottish Parliament gave the opportunity to discuss about the balance between security and freedom.
The last day was dedicated to the legal frameworks: comparing the standards and regulations in Italy, France, Belgium and the UK. The annual meeting was concluded by the presentation of local innovative initiatives in the field of security.
